Janelle Monae is an alien from outer space. That’s really the only explanation for how creative and captivating her recorded music and live show are. She destroyed the Key Club on Tuesday night and commanded the stage with a presence only a handful of other live performers I’ve seen can compare to. Diddy and Big Boi were in the house to introduce her to the crowd, but Janelle was clearly the brightest star in the room.
