CunninLynguists interview in Ozone Mag
May 23, 2008
Ozone Magazine is the most well-respected publication when it comes to hip hop from the south, and they are (finally) showing some love to our brothers CunninLynguists in their special Kentucky Derby issue. They spoke to Deacon and got his thoughts on the group’s name, music and future plans – you can scan the entire interview below. I posted the above cover for two reasons – 1) CL’s name is on the lower right, 2) they are producing a few tracks for this kid YV, who is signed to Polow Da Don’s label through the dayjob. Wordup.

i dont like their name. sorry!
these guys last two albums have been really incredible. for anyone who misses that ‘96 outkast shit and yearns for that time in hip-hop you most def want to check them out. and that “mexico” joint is hot. btw. and phonte spits a gem on the album for all you little brother heads. quality shit. and for the record i love the name. it’s a double entendre for those of you who just don’t get it.
“Ozone Magazine is the most well-respected publication…” this is a stretch, in Orlando, where the mag is based, if you are not a grimey dirty south rapper, you won’t get any love from this magazine.
nobody in town even pays attention to this bs magazine, and for some reason the paper they print it on smells really bad…
theoneDJ : If Ozone Magazine isn’t the biggest Southern rap magazine, what is?
Its good to see Ozone writing articles about southern Mc’s who can talk the talk. They show love…sometimes. I have never seen a Little Brother article on Ozone. Need I say more??
