The Green Album
June 3, 2008The Rev. Al Green has a dope ass new album entitled Lay It Down that he worked on alongside ?uestlove of The Roots and James Poyser. I’ve been spinning it the last few days and it’s definitely a well put together set and a return to a classic sound for Mr. Green. Recently I was also pleasantly surprised to come across The Green Album, a collection of Al Green samples combined with a cappellas from hip hop artists like Jay-Z, Common, The Pharcyde and more. The Green Album was put together by Omer Saar and mixed by DJ Haircut from NowOn. It’s a really fresh project, so click the cover above to download it. Also, below check out some classic footage of Rev. Al absolutely killing a performance.
